Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 will officially reach end of support on October 14, 2025. The current version, 22H2, is the final release of Windows 10, and all editions will continue receiving monthly security updates only until that date. After October 14, no additional feature updates, security patches, or bug fixes will be provided.
While your Windows 10 PCs will still function after end of support, they will no longer be protected against new security threats. Microsoft cautions that organizations running unsupported systems face increased risks of security breaches, malware infections, and potential compliance violations. To stay secure, businesses should begin preparing their upgrade strategy now.
Your options moving forward:
- Upgrade for free (if eligible): If your PC meets the minimum requirements, you can upgrade directly to Windows 11 at no cost.
- Extended secuirty updates: Organizations can choose to enroll in Microsoft’s Extended Security Update program, which provides temporary coverage beyond October 14, 2025.
- Transition to a new Windows 11 PC: For older hardware that doesn’t meet upgrade requirements, replacing devices with Windows 11-ready machines is the most secure, long-term option.
